Pedagogías artísticas y praxis interculturales: el cine documental como herramienta didáctica para la innovación educativa1

Abstract

This work reflects on the integration of academic knowledge with the ancestral wisdom of the Ecuadorian peoples. The research uses a transdisciplinary, qualitative, exploratory, descriptive, and analytical methodology that delves into the study of the complex multi-ethnic, plurinational, and intercultural diversity of Ecuador. As a result, the testimonies of different socio-cultural actors from the Ecuadorian coast, mountains, and Amazon during the filming of the documentary ‘The Lost Art of Education’ are shown. In conclusion, it seeks to promote decolonial pedagogical practices that build new learning spaces focused on integrating communal practices, customs and knowledge into the educational curriculum.
